Škoda Peaq Sets 582-Mile Seven-Seat EV Range Record

Škoda's seven-seat Peaq 90 covered 582 miles (936 km) on one charge from Mladá Boleslav to Zandvoort, exceeding its WLTP rating by almost 45 percent, the company says.

Škoda’s seven-seat Peaq 90 covered 582 miles (936 km) on a single charge of its 91 kWh battery, a distance the company says is a range record for seven-seater electric SUVs. The series-production vehicle drove from Škoda’s headquarters in Mladá Boleslav, Czech Republic, to Zandvoort in the Netherlands without recharging, averaging 14.8 kWh per 100 miles (9.2 kWh/100 km). According to Škoda, the attempt was supervised by certification authority TÜV SÜD, and a full account of the drive is published on the Škoda Storyboard.

How Was the Škoda Peaq Range Record Set?

The idea came from two Škoda employees, Marek Jež and Jakub Krs, who wanted to test how far the new electric seven-seater could travel on one charge. The pair left Mladá Boleslav at midday on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, drove through Germany with stops to swap drivers, rest, and eat, and reached the Netherlands early Wednesday morning. They completed the run that afternoon in the seaside resort of Zandvoort.

Krs, who is responsible for high-voltage battery strategy at Škoda Auto, described the approach. “The aim was to demonstrate what the technology can achieve when pushed to its limits. To maximise the range, we selected the most suitable route and, of course, adapted our driving style accordingly,” he said.

Jež, Head of the Peaq model series, added: “In everyday use, customers are unlikely to drive the car this way. Instead, they will take advantage of everything the Peaq has to offer in terms of driving dynamics, onboard infotainment and comfort.”

Record Drive Versus WLTP Range

The Peaq 90 carries a homologated WLTP range of up to 402 miles (647 km), a figure Škoda says is based on the full range of driving conditions prescribed by legislation. The record distance of 582 miles (936 km) exceeded that by 180 miles (289 km), or almost 45 percent. WLTP figures are typically more optimistic than EPA ratings used in the United States; the Peaq has not been rated on the EPA cycle.

The company attributes the result in part to the model’s aerodynamics, with a drag coefficient of 0.249. A video of the record drive is available from Škoda Auto.

Production and Customer Deliveries

Škoda builds the Peaq at its main plant in Mladá Boleslav, and the company says the model is now reaching its first customers. The Peaq introduces several features new to the brand, including flush door handles, a panoramic roof with Dynamic Shade Control, and bidirectional charging. Škoda reports more than 10,000 orders for the model to date.
