SWTCH Energy and FLO, leading North American EV charging providers, have announced a roaming agreement that unifies access to their extensive charging networks. This partnership allows drivers to use either company’s app to access tens of thousands of chargers seamlessly, eliminating the need for multiple accounts or apps.
Key Highlights
- Unified Access: Drivers can use SWTCH or FLO apps to charge on both networks.
- Expanded Network: Access to over 70,000 chargers (SWTCH) and 110,000 chargers (FLO) across North America.
- Seamless Payments: Existing wallets and payment methods work across both networks.
- Simplified Trip Planning: Enhanced visibility of charging stations for easier travel.
- Industry Impact: Reduces network fragmentation, boosting EV adoption.

Breaking Down Charging Barriers
The agreement tackles a major hurdle in EV adoption: network fragmentation. Previously, drivers needed separate apps and accounts for different charging networks, creating friction, especially for frequent travelers. By integrating their platforms, SWTCH and FLO provide a cohesive charging experience, allowing users to locate and use chargers effortlessly across North America.
Benefits for EV Drivers
This collaboration delivers immediate value to users. Drivers can now access a combined network of over 180,000 chargers through a single app, streamlining the charging process. The integration supports existing payment methods, ensuring convenience and consistency. Trip planning is also simplified, as drivers gain visibility into a broader network of charging stations, fostering confidence in long-distance EV travel.

Industry Leadership and Vision
“This partnership with FLO is a step toward a seamless, integrated charging ecosystem,” said Carter Li, CEO of SWTCH. “By breaking down network silos, we’re supporting the growth of EV adoption.”
Louis Tremblay, President and CEO of FLO, added, “Our collaboration with SWTCH strengthens our network, ensuring drivers can charge reliably wherever they go.”
Both companies have existing roaming agreements with other networks, further expanding access and reinforcing their commitment to a connected EV charging infrastructure.
