Volkswagen introduces the new Tiguan, now hitting European dealerships with advanced plug-in hybrid (eHybrid) options. With a starting price of €48,655, the Tiguan eHybrid is available in two power outputs: 150 kW and 200 kW. This launch follows the successful release of the Tiguan’s mild hybrid (eTSI) and turbodiesel (TDI) models in September 2023.

The Tiguan eHybrid showcases Volkswagen’s latest plug-in hybrid technology, offering a significantly enhanced electric range. Thanks to a 19.7 kWh battery, the eHybrid’s electric range nearly doubles that of its predecessor, achieving up to 120 km on a single charge. This transformation allows the Tiguan to operate as an electric vehicle for daily use. When combining the 85 kW electric motor with a new 1.5-litre TSI engine, the Tiguan promises low consumption and a combined range exceeding 900 km. Charging capabilities have also improved, with up to 11 kW at home and 50 kW at DC fast-charging stations.

The Tiguan is equipped with premium-class technologies, including a new digital cockpit and the IDA voice assistant, which integrates ChatGPT’s artificial intelligence for a wide range of queries and commands. Parking becomes effortless with the latest Park Assist systems, offering fully automatic and remote-controlled parking options. Additionally, the introduction of adaptive running gear (DCC Pro) and new features like a pneumatic massage function for front seats and IQ.LIGHT HD matrix headlights further elevate the Tiguan’s appeal.

Standard features in the entry-level Tiguan include digital instruments, a large infotainment system, diverse driving profiles, and comprehensive safety systems. Prices for the Tiguan begin at €36,600 for the eTSI variant, with the eHybrid and the TDI 4Motion models offering more power and capabilities for those seeking advanced options.

This launch underscores Volkswagen’s commitment to innovation and sustainability, marking the Tiguan as a frontrunner in the hybrid vehicle market.
