Ultra-Fast EV Charging at Müller Stores

ADS-TEC Energy, in collaboration with MVV and retail group Müller, is set to install more than 30 battery-buffered fast-charging solutions across Germany. This initiative aims to enhance electric vehicle (EV) accessibility at popular retail locations, combining innovative technology with sustainable energy practices.

Key Highlights

  • Over 30 charging stations will be deployed at Müller branches nationwide, featuring primarily ChargePosts and ChargeBoxes.
  • MVV handles financing, installation, and operation, ensuring seamless customer service and expansion of EV infrastructure.
  • ADS-TEC Energy manages DOOH advertising on ChargePost screens for the first time, adding economic value through digital marketing.
  • GEIG-compliant solutions enable ultra-fast charging up to 320 kW, even in areas with limited grid capacity.
  • Partnership promotes sustainable mobility, allowing customers to charge EVs quickly while shopping.

Innovative Solution for Retail EV Charging

The project addresses the growing demand for efficient EV fast charging in everyday settings. Müller, with around 950 stores across Europe and a strong presence in Germany, provides ideal locations for these installations. ADS-TEC Energy’s battery-based fast-charging systems overcome grid limitations, delivering high-speed charging that complies with the German Act on Electric Mobility Infrastructure in Buildings (GEIG). This not only meets legal requirements but also offers convenience, enabling EVs to charge in minutes.

By integrating battery storage, these systems ensure reliability and performance, making them suitable for high-traffic retail environments. Customers benefit from ultra-fast charging capabilities, reducing wait times and encouraging the adoption of electric vehicles.

MVV’s Role in Driving Mobility Transformation

MVV, a leading energy company based in Mannheim, is spearheading the implementation. With over 440 charging points already in operation, MVV brings expertise in energy distribution and green technologies. Ralf Klöpfer, Chief Sales Officer at MVV, emphasizes the partnership’s focus on time-saving and environmentally friendly solutions. This expansion supports MVV’s commitment to the energy transition, aiming for climate-positive operations by 2035.

Pioneering DOOH Advertising Integration

In a novel approach, ADS-TEC Energy is overseeing the marketing of Digital Out-of-Home (DOOH) advertising on the 75-inch screens of ChargePost units. These high-resolution displays at busy retail sites offer targeted advertising opportunities, creating additional revenue streams and enhancing the economic viability of the infrastructure.

Economic and Environmental Benefits

This deployment fulfills GEIG mandates while providing Müller customers with future-proof EV charging options. The combination of advanced charging technology and advertising features establishes a sustainable model that benefits all stakeholders. Michael Rudloff, COO of ADS-TEC Energy, highlights the need for innovative approaches beyond basic charging to build efficient infrastructure.
