VinFast is building its European strategy around passenger EVs, certified electric buses, and a partner-based dealer and service network. The company notes that fully electric cars took 30.5% of new-car sales across 16 key European markets in August. VinFast cites 202,833 battery-electric registrations for the month, up 54.2% year over year. The company says that as EVs go mainstream in Europe, success depends on trust, reliability, and long-term presence as much as on product competitiveness.

How Fast Is Europe’s EV Market Growing?
According to the release, August’s BEV share beat forecasts made at the start of the year. Transport & Environment had projected a 23% BEV share for the EU. Rho Motion had projected roughly 21% for Europe.
Europe’s largest markets are leading the growth. France reached a 38.3% BEV share in August and Germany reached 32.5%.
Public transport is moving faster still. The release reports that six in ten new EU city buses registered in 2025 were zero-emission. Under Regulation (EU) 2024/1610, 90% of new city buses must be zero-emission by 2030, rising to 100% by 2035.
Chris Heron, secretary general of E-Mobility Europe, described the shift in buyer expectations this way: “The priority now is certainty matched by delivery.”
VinFast’s Three-Pillar Europe Strategy
The company says its European plan rests on three elements:
- products designed for European priorities
- entry into public transport
- a localized commercial and service footprint
VF 6 Compact Electric SUV
VinFast positions the VF 6 as a compact electric SUV suited to city streets and daily commuting. The company says the model targets three buyer priorities: efficiency, design, and accessibility. It argues that for these buyers, accessibility is what makes the switch to electric possible.
EB 8 and EB 12 Electric Buses
VinFast is entering European public transport with its EB 8 and EB 12 electric buses. The EB 12 holds full European certification. VinFast says this demonstrates compliance with regional standards and shows the bus is tailored to local infrastructure requirements.
The company pitches the certified bus to transit operators facing the EU’s zero-emission mandates. It argues those operators need certified suppliers that can deliver now.
Partner-Based Dealer and Service Network
VinFast is building its commercial footprint through partnerships with dealerships and service providers across the region. The company says these partnerships give customers access to maintenance, support, and warranty services that meet European expectations.
VinFast describes the partner-based retail model as a deliberate choice. It argues that in Europe, aftersales service and brand reliability matter as much as the vehicles themselves. According to the company, working with established local partners brings in businesses that already know their markets, customers, and regulations. VinFast says the model gives drivers service close to home and gives fleet operators support that keeps vehicles on the road.
A Long-Term Bet on Europe
VinFast characterizes its European presence as a long-term commitment rather than a short-term push for volume. The company says its lineup of electric cars, certified buses, and a growing local service network addresses two things: what European customers buy, and what keeps them loyal after the purchase.
