Volkswagen has launched pre-sales for the new ID.3 GTX Performance, their most powerful electric vehicle yet. With a 240 kW (326 PS) motor, it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.7 seconds. The model boasts agile handling, advanced steering, and adaptive Sport DCC, making it the flagship of the ID.3 product line.

Kai Grünitz, Member of the Volkswagen Brand Board of Management responsible for Development, describes the vehicle as the electric counterpart to the sporty Golf GTI Clubsport.
The enhanced Volkswagen Performance drive system allows the ID.3 GTX Performance to produce a maximum torque of 545 Nm, surpassing the drive power of the most powerful Volkswagen V6 turbocharged engines. The car’s 0 to 100 km/h sprint in 5.7 seconds and top speed of 200 km/h showcase its sporty capabilities.
The 79 kWh lithium-ion battery provides a WLTP range of up to 601 km. Innovative charging and thermal management allow the battery to charge from 10 to 80 percent in about 26 minutes at DC quick-charging stations, thanks to a charging capacity of up to 185 kW.
The GTX-specific running gear includes stronger stabilizers, a MacPherson front axle, and a five-link rear axle with a sophisticated guidance system. The progressive steering system and optional Sport DCC adaptive chassis control ensure precise handling and excellent roadholding.
The ID.3 GTX and ID.3 GTX Performance models feature distinct design elements, such as a unique front bumper with an independent black air intake and a 20-inch Skagen GTX wheel rim available in black. The interior is customized with GTX-specific features for a sporty feel.
The vehicle is equipped with the latest generation of software and infotainment systems, including a 12.9-inch display, the IDA voice assistant with ChatGPT, and an improved operating concept. Optional features like the enhanced augmented reality head-up display and premium sound system from Harman Kardon enhance the driving experience.
Standard safety systems include cruise control, Autonomous Emergency Braking, lane assist, and the Car2X traffic hazard alert function. Optional systems, such as Connected Travel Assist, offer advanced longitudinal and lateral guidance.
The new ID.3 GTX is available from €52,295 in Germany, with Volkswagen offering a scrappage scheme valued at €3,570 for all ID. models.
