Zerova, a global leader in DC charging solutions, will debut its latest technologies at the London EV Show 2024 in collaboration with Zenobē, a prominent player in fleet electrification. The companies will spotlight a groundbreaking 1.4MW charging system that features four Zerova DO chargers and sixteen Comboxes. This new charging infrastructure aims to enhance the electrification of bus and coach depots across the UK, following the energization of a key site in late October.
Key Highlights:
- Zerova to showcase MSC Dispenser and Combox Generation 2 at the London EV Show.
- Collaborative project with Zenobē includes a 1.4MW system featuring drop-down cable charging.
- New Combox supports up to 500A, significantly improving on the previous generation’s 200A capacity.
- The innovative charging solutions help maximize space utilization at London’s bus garages.
Zerova’s partnership with Zenobē began in early 2020, initially deploying AC chargers and progressing to advanced DC systems, including Megawatt charging systems in London’s bus garages. These systems, typically ranging from 1.1MW to 2.2MW, use multiple primary power cabinets (DO360) that connect to vehicles via local Combox units for an efficient plug-and-charge experience.
At the London EV Show, Zerova will feature its latest products, including the MSC Dispenser and the Combox Generation 2. The new Combox can deliver up to 500A, more than doubling the first generation’s 200A capacity, and also supports pantograph charging for increased versatility in modern fleet operations. This new technology aims to address key challenges for London operators, such as the need to maximize the operational use of floor space.
Keith Wotton, Senior Business Developer at Zerova, noted, “We are incredibly proud to debut our innovative charging solutions at the London EV Show and to share successful bus depot projects completed with Zenobē. Our advanced systems are designed to meet the unique needs of bus operators, delivering reliable, high-power charging solutions that support their sustainability transportation targets.”
Project Overview
The recent London bus depot project is a testament to the ongoing successful collaboration between Zerova and Zenobē. Key components of the project include:
- Three to six Zerova DO Chargers.
- Eleven to twenty-four Comboxes.
- A 1.1MW to 2.2MW system featuring an innovative drop-down cable charging mechanism to efficiently power multiple vehicles.
This innovative charging system allows bus operators to efficiently manage larger fleets without compromising space, meeting the growing demand for electric public transportation.
