Boston’s life science hub, prominently featuring companies like Pfizer, Novartis, and LabCentral, welcomes an advanced EV charging initiative. A collaborative effort by Xeal, Bulfinch, and Harrison Street has introduced over 80 state-of-the-art EV chargers to Osborn Triangle in Kendall Square, Cambridge. This deployment marks a significant step towards sustainable urban development and enhances the city’s electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure, aligning with the increasing dedication of U.S. office development to life science projects.

Key Highlights:

  • Over 80 advanced EV chargers installed at Osborn Triangle
  • Initiative supports sustainability goals of life science tenants
  • First 12 chargers have reduced CO2 by nearly 9,000lbs in under a month
  • Xeal’s patented technology ensures 100% charger reliability
  • Collaboration marks a stride towards sustainable urban development

The installation at Osborn Triangle serves as a testament to the commitment of Xeal, Bulfinch, and Harrison Street towards fostering a sustainable environment. The site, which accommodates 650 parking spaces, is now equipped with Xeal’s advanced EV chargers, designed to offer a dependable charging solution with their unique ‘Never Down’ approach.

“By equipping the campus with reliable EV chargers, we’re helping our tenants reach sustainability goals while making it easier to adopt sustainable transportation,” mentioned Robert M. Brierley, SVP, Director of Property Management at Bulfinch. This move is particularly beneficial for the tenants of Osborn Triangle, driving innovation in the life sciences field.

So far, the first 12 of the proposed 83 chargers have been installed, contributing to an impressive reduction in CO2 emissions and providing 11,500 electric miles in less than a month. Xeal’s chargers eliminate common issues like single-point-of-failure in central networks, which is the cause of 95% of charging failures.
