The 2027 Genesis GV60 Magma carries a starting MSRP of $69,950, making the dual-motor electric SUV the first vehicle offered in the United States under the brand’s Magma performance line. Genesis says the GV60 Magma produces up to 641 horsepower and 583 lb-ft of torque in Boost Mode, drawing on an 84 kWh battery pack and an upgraded all-wheel-drive system. The company expects the model to reach select retailers in California, New York, and New Jersey in the coming weeks.

What Powers the GV60 Magma?
The Magma uses an upgraded dual-motor all-wheel-drive layout, with a 166 kW motor at the front axle and a 282 kW unit at the rear. Combined standard output is 448 kW, which Genesis states as roughly 600 horsepower, alongside 546 lb-ft (740 Nm) of torque. Engaging Boost Mode temporarily raises those figures.

An electronic limited slip differential (e-LSD) and High-Performance Battery Control (HPBC) are standard. The 641-horsepower powertrain sits on a chassis with a wider, lower stance than the standard GV60.
Magma-Exclusive Driving Technologies
Genesis groups several driver-facing systems under the Magma banner:
- Virtual Gear Shift (VGS): Recreates the sensation of shifting gears using virtual RPM technology, shift feedback, visual gear indicators, and coordinated sound.
- GT Mode: Balances high-speed cruising comfort, power output, and efficiency.
- SPRINT Mode: Prioritizes handling and power delivery for high-performance driving.
- Launch Control: Manages pre-torque and slip control off the line.
- Boost Mode: Temporarily raises peak torque and power output.
- Drift Mode: Enables controlled drifting and can run simultaneously with VGS and the virtual sound system.
- e-Active Sound Design Plus (e-ASD+): Simulates engine sound through two external speakers mounted front and rear, using Magma-specific audio the company says was inspired by Goodwood Festival recordings.
Chassis and Exterior Changes
Aerodynamic hardware includes canards on the front bumper, garnishes and breathers on the fenders, and a winglet-style rear spoiler. Exclusive 21-inch matte-finish forged wheels are paired with wider tires, which Genesis says improve grip, stability, and control. Four exterior colors are offered: Magma Orange, Uyuni White, Vik Black, and Makalu Gray Matte.
Interior and Standard Equipment
The cabin introduces Genesis’ first performance bucket seat, wrapped in suede with an Obsidian Black monotone treatment and Magma Orange stitching. The steering wheel adds dedicated Boost and Magma Mode buttons, and Magma-specific alloy pedals and a performance-oriented gauge cluster are standard.
Standard equipment includes a 27-inch integrated OLED infotainment screen, a Bang & Olufsen audio system, heated and ventilated front seats, power bucket seats for driver and passenger, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a surround view monitor with blind-spot view monitor, and the Connected Cloud Platform with over-the-air software updates.
Where the GV60 Magma Goes on Sale
Availability at launch is limited to select Genesis retailers in California, New York, and New Jersey, with the company directing prospective buyers to contact a local retailer. As the first high-performance model from Genesis, the Magma establishes the price entry point for a performance line the brand has said will expand.
