Hyundai Motor Group has launched AllDayEnergy, a single global brand consolidating its vehicle-to-everything (V2X) energy services, with rollout beginning in the United Kingdom through the Kia App in the second half of 2026. The brand covers smart charging (V1G), vehicle-to-grid (V2G) and vehicle-to-home (V2H) services delivered through the vehicle apps of Hyundai Motor and Kia. Hyundai Motor Group says the unified name gives customers a consistent experience across markets and service types, with expansion planned for Europe, the U.S. and Korea after the UK launch.
Highlights
- AllDayEnergy consolidates V1G smart charging, V2G and V2H services under a single global identity
- First deployment is V1G smart charging in the UK via the Kia App in the second half of 2026
- Planned expansion covers Europe, the U.S. and Korea, delivered through Hyundai Motor and Kia vehicle apps
- The Group already operates V2X services in Korea, the U.S. and the Netherlands
What Is AllDayEnergy?
AllDayEnergy is the Group’s unified set of global services connecting electric vehicle batteries to homes and electricity grids. V2X technology enables bidirectional energy flow between a vehicle and the grid, allowing an EV to function as a mobile energy storage system rather than only drawing power during charging.
The practical mechanism is time-shifting. Customers charge when electricity costs are lower, then use the stored energy later or supply it to an external system. Depending on the market and the service type, the Group says this can help manage charging costs, support household energy needs, and enable participation in utility energy programs.
Which Services Does the Brand Cover?
Three service types sit under the AllDayEnergy name:
- V1G: Adjusts the timing of vehicle charging in response to real-time electricity prices, grid conditions and customer preferences.
- V2G: Enables an EV battery to return energy to the grid when required.
- V2H: Allows energy stored in an EV battery to support household electricity needs, including backup power during outages.
The rollout is sequenced rather than simultaneous. V1G smart charging comes first, with V2G and V2H following.
Where the Group Already Operates V2X Services
The branding exercise sits on top of deployments already running in three markets. In Korea, the Group is piloting V2G technology in Jeju Special Self-Governing Province. In the U.S., it has deployed V2H services providing emergency household backup power during events such as major wildfires. In the Netherlands, it has introduced V2G and smart charging services that adjust vehicle charging in response to dynamic electricity prices — a set of programs the Group detailed as part of an earlier V2X rollout.
How Will Customers Access AllDayEnergy?
Access runs through the existing Kia and Hyundai Motor vehicle apps rather than a standalone product. The initial UK deployment adds the service to the Kia App later this year, with additional markets to follow. The UK is an increasingly common first market for managed charging launches, with suppliers including Valeo and Nissan targeting UK V1G and V2G rollouts built around the country’s smart charge point requirements.
Woong Tae Hwang, Vice President and Head of the EV Energy Strategy Group at Hyundai Motor Group, framed the launch as a positioning move:
“When we launch AllDayEnergy through our Kia App later this year, we will be taking a significant step towards establishing our identity as a smart energy service provider. We will continue to expand our AllDayEnergy service globally, allowing customers to seamlessly optimize their energy usage, reduce their energy costs, and contribute to grid sustainability.”
The Group says the AllDayEnergy name reflects its intent to make smart energy management part of customers’ daily routines as it moves toward positioning itself as a smart energy solutions provider.
