The EV fast-charging network operated jointly by Pilot Company, General Motors and EVgo has surpassed 300 locations and 1,300 fast-charging stalls across 40 states. The companies say the network now reaches roughly 75% of the contiguous United States, covering more than 2.2 million square miles. That puts Pilot’s EV charging buildout past the halfway point of the target the three partners set in 2022 — up to 2,000 stalls at as many as 500 locations nationwide.

Where the Network Stands
Pilot, GM and EVgo have been building the collaborative fast-charging network since 2022. Pilot says EV drivers have rated the charging experience at 9.41 out of 10 on Plugshare as of July 2026.

What Drivers Find at the Sites
According to Pilot, amenities available to EV travelers at network locations include:
- 24/7 staffed sites that are well-lit, with free Wi-Fi and clean restrooms
- On-site retail and restaurants, plus food, beverage and convenience options
- Overhead canopies at several locations for weather protection
- Pull-through stalls at several locations for drivers towing a trailer
- Windshield washing supplies
“Crossing 300 Pilot and EVgo fast-charging locations is an important milestone because it gives EV drivers more of what they need most on the road: simple, convenient and dependable charging,” said William Hotchkiss, head of public charging at GM. “We’re helping build a charging ecosystem that gives customers more confidence to take longer trips and enjoy the journey.”
Which Road Trip Routes Does the Network Cover?
With stalls positioned along major interstate corridors, the companies point to several long-distance routes now served end to end:
- San Antonio, Texas, to Jacksonville, Florida — across the South, through New Orleans and the Gulf Coast
- Nashville, Tennessee, to Charleston, South Carolina — through Great Smoky Mountains National Park to the coast
- Detroit, Michigan, to Tampa, Florida — south through Cincinnati, Lexington, Knoxville and Atlanta
- White Sands National Park to Saguaro National Park — from near Las Cruces, New Mexico, to Tucson, Arizona
Halfway to the 2,000-Stall Target
The 300-location mark leaves the partnership more than halfway toward its full buildout goal, a target that dates to the 2022 launch of the collaboration.
