RIZON is opening seven new sales centers across Québec, timing the expansion to coincide with the reopening of the province’s Écocamionnage incentive program, which offers up to $100,000 CAD (roughly $72,960 USD) in provincial funding for eligible zero-emission freight vehicles. The all-electric commercial truck brand, a Daimler Truck subsidiary distributed in Canada by RIZON Truck Canada, says the move will give fleet operators in Greater Montréal, Québec City, and Northeastern Québec improved access to its Class 4–5 medium-duty trucks, along with local sales, service, and deployment support.
Highlights
- Seven new Québec sales centers open across Greater Montréal, Québec City, and Northeastern Québec
- RIZON Class 4–5 trucks qualify for up to $100,000 CAD per vehicle under the Écocamionnage program
- Program funding is scheduled to run through March 31, 2028, with amounts tied to vehicle class and project type
- Expansion builds on a Canadian dealer footprint that already spans British Columbia, Ontario, and Québec
Expansion Timed to Provincial Funding
The seven new centers are positioned to serve fleet operators across three key Québec regions, with a focus on last-mile logistics, municipal services, and commercial applications where medium-duty electric trucks are gaining traction. RIZON first entered the Canadian market in 2024 and has since built out a dealer network that already spans multiple provinces. The Québec buildout follows earlier expansions into British Columbia and Ontario over the past 18 months.
The timing aligns with the reopening of Québec’s Écocamionnage program, administered by the province’s Ministère des Transports et de la Mobilité durable. According to RIZON, its Class 4–5 trucks are eligible for the program’s maximum $100,000 CAD incentive, though final amounts are determined by vehicle class and project type. The program is scheduled to run through March 31, 2028.
Executive Commentary
“Écocamionnage offers a major opportunity for Québec fleets to accelerate the shift to zero-emission trucks,” said Alex Voets, General Manager, RIZON North America. “With seven new sales centers coming online, we’re making it easier for operators across the province to access RIZON trucks that are already proving themselves on Canadian roads, backed by local support for charging, incentives, and fleet deployment.”
Truck Specifications and Charging
RIZON’s Class 4–5 medium-duty battery-electric vehicles range from 15,995 to 18,850 lbs. gross vehicle weight for Canadian customers. The company states the M-size variant with two battery packs can run up to 177 km on a single charge, while the L-size variant with three battery packs is rated up to 257 km. These figures are manufacturer-reported under standard testing conditions with 50% payload, as of October 2023, and real-world range will vary with conditions, payload, and driving style.
The trucks support two charging formats: DC Fast Charging via a CCS1 connector and Level 2 AC Charging via a J1772 connector. The brand was first introduced at the Advanced Clean Transportation (ACT) Expo in Anaheim in May 2023 and is now operating across Canada and the United States.
RIZON Truck Canada, headquartered in Surrey, BC, is the exclusive Canadian distributor and a subsidiary of Velocity Vehicle Group.
