Schneider Electric has rolled out a major upgrade to Schneider Charge Pro, its Level 2 commercial EV charger, adding a five-year hardware warranty, North American Charging Standard (NACS) support and app-free QR-code charging for the U.S. market. The updated Schneider Charge Pro targets property owners, fleet operators and site hosts running multi-unit dwellings, workplaces, fleets, and public or destination locations such as hotels and retail centers. Schneider Electric says the changes are meant to reduce deployment complexity and improve uptime as commercial properties face growing EV charging demand alongside tighter power availability and rising energy costs. The upgrade builds on the charger the company introduced for the commercial market in 2024, extending it with built-in software, added security design and broader connector support.

New Features Target Faster Deployment and Simpler Operation
Schneider Electric says the update targets three recurring friction points for commercial EV charging operators: setup complexity, driver experience and connector fragmentation. Updated Charge Pro capabilities include:
- Built-in charging management software: One year of EV Connect Software+™, a cloud-based charging station management system, is included at activation, giving site owners remote monitoring, access management and usage tracking.
- Faster setup: A simplified commissioning process is designed to cut installation time and get charging sites online more quickly.
- App-free charging: Drivers start a session by scanning a QR code, with no app or account setup required.
- Cybersecurity by design: The charger is built using Schneider Electric’s cybersecurity best practices to help protect charging operations and data.
- Expanded connector options: Supports both J1772 and NACS, with flexible configurations up to 80 A.

Charge Pro Ties Into Schneider’s Broader Electrical Infrastructure
Charge Pro is also designed to work alongside Schneider Electric’s wider energy management and electrical infrastructure lineup, including panelboards, switchgear and circuit protection products used in commercial EV charging installations. Connecting EV charging to that infrastructure lets customers manage energy demand and balance load across a site as charging needs grow, according to the company. Schneider Electric is pairing the hardware with certified installation partners such as Qmerit to coordinate deployment and expansion of charging infrastructure.

Availability
The updated Schneider Charge Pro is available through Schneider Electric’s network of distribution partners, installers and EV infrastructure integrators in the U.S., the company says.
