The show car will make its global debut later this year during the media drive for the Polestar 4 SUV, which is now open for orders.

What Does the Formula 2030 Concept Preview?
According to Polestar, the Formula 2030 concept is designed to showcase the brand’s future design while amplifying its established performance, technology, and sustainability pillars. The company describes it as a product of a broader 2030 strategy executed to continue business growth and drive to profitability.
The concept previews design attributes that will appear on the new Polestar 2, with a planned 2027 launch, and on the forthcoming Polestar 7, while emphasizing the brand’s performance credentials. Polestar says the design team, led by Römers, has produced a bold evolution of the company’s Scandinavian form language, extending exterior and interior design, material innovation, and sustainability into a new chapter.
Design Direction Under Philipp Römers
Römers framed the concept as continuity rather than a reset.
“Polestar’s design and brand is already so strong, it was obvious we needed a bold evolution not revolution of what came before,” said Philipp Römers, Head of Design at Polestar. “Formula 2030 delivers this, showcasing our future while respecting brand-defining elements like the familiar Dual Blade headlights ensuring it remains recognisably a Polestar with a strong, characterful identity.”
Preview at The Cube and Global Debut
Polestar will show the concept to investors, retailers, and a select group of VIP customers during a behind-the-scenes preview at a Formula 2030 strategy event at The Cube, the company’s headquarters in Gothenburg. The show car will then make its global debut later this year as part of the Polestar 4 SUV media drive. Polestar 4 SUV sales opened September 2 in a majority of Polestar markets.
Polestar’s Current and Planned Lineup
Polestar currently has five models in its lineup: Polestar 2, Polestar 3, Polestar 4 coupe, Polestar 4 SUV, and Polestar 5. Planned models include the Polestar 2 successor, to be launched in 2027, the Polestar 7 compact SUV, to be introduced in 2028, and the Polestar 6 roadster.
The company’s vehicles are currently manufactured on two continents, North America and Asia. Polestar plans to diversify its manufacturing footprint further, with production of the Polestar 7 planned in Europe. The company states its cars are available in 31 markets across North America, Europe, and Asia Pacific.
