Chevrolet is broadening its electric vehicle portfolio by introducing the Trail Boss trim to the 2026 Silverado EV lineup. Known for its off-road prowess on other Chevrolet models like the Silverado and Colorado, this rugged trim will hit the market this summer, blending electric efficiency with trail-ready capability.
Key Highlights:
- Trail Boss trim added to 2026 Silverado EV lineup
- Available starting this summer
- Features a 2-inch lift and 24% higher ground clearance
- Includes exclusive Terrain mode for enhanced off-road control
- Offers up to 12,500 lb towing capacity with extended range battery
- Sports a bold design with 35-inch all-terrain tires
The Trail Boss enhances the Silverado EV with superior off-road features. Its 2-inch lift provides 24% higher ground clearance compared to the base model, paired with a specially tuned coil suspension and hydraulic rebound control for a smoother ride over rough landscapes.
A key feature, the Terrain mode, optimizes control on uneven terrain at low speeds. It activates sharper 4-Wheel Steer, improving torque and traction management. Additionally, the Sidewinder mode lets all four wheels turn in unison, allowing diagonal movement—perfect for navigating tough trails or tight parking spots.
Performance-wise, the Trail Boss with the extended range battery pack boasts a 12,500 lb towing capacity and 2,100 lb payload. Opt for the Max Range battery, and it delivers an impressive 725 horsepower and 775 lb-ft of torque, ensuring power matches its rugged look.

Visually, the Trail Boss stands out with a high-angle approach front fascia, 35-inch all-terrain tires, unique 18-inch wheels, red tow hooks, and exclusive badging. Inside, a distinct interior and auxiliary switches for accessories add practicality and flair.
Available in nine colors—including new shades like White Sands and Magnus Gray Matte Metallic—the Silverado EV lineup, starting at $54,895, also includes Work Truck and LT trims, with the RST trim phased out. Enhanced driver assist features like Super Cruise and Adaptive Cruise control further elevate the experience.
