Lectron Launches Nexus Level 2 Home EV Chargers

Lectron has launched Nexus, a four-configuration line of Level 2 home EV chargers for NACS and J1772 vehicles, delivering up to 46 miles of range per hour of charging.

Lectron has introduced Nexus, a line of Level 2 wall-mounted home EV chargers offered in four configurations and rated to deliver up to 46 miles of range per hour of charging. The Nexus platform is built for residential use, with hardware the company says is engineered for sustained electrical load, repeated daily use, and extended environmental exposure. Lectron, which supplies EV charging hardware to automakers, announced the launch this week and says the line expands its home charging portfolio with chargers developed using engineering, manufacturing, and validation processes drawn from its OEM automotive programs.

Dual-standard coverage matters as North American automakers continue moving to J3400 ports, leaving a mixed installed base for anyone specifying residential EV charging hardware today.

What Does Automotive-Grade Mean in the Nexus Design?

According to Lectron, the internal design carries over power delivery architecture, PCBA layout, and thermal management systems used in the company’s OEM automotive programs. The company says the platform is engineered to support sustained high-current operation and the repeated charging cycles typical of daily residential use.

“Nexus reflects the engineering and validation standards used across Lectron’s OEM programs and charging hardware,” said Christopher Maiwald, CEO of Lectron. “It is designed for consistent, high-reliability operation under everyday residential charging conditions.”

Certification and Validation Testing

Nexus chargers are certified to UL 2594, UL 2231, UL 2251, and UL 817. Lectron reports that internal validation testing covers thermal cycling from -22°F to 122°F, sustained load operation at rated amperage, connection cycle testing exceeding 10,000 insertions, and impact testing.

The Nexus line is available through Lectron.com and Amazon. Lectron says more than 2 million EV owners use its products, which support J3400 (NACS), CCS, and J1772 across adapters, portable chargers, home stations, and roadside power accessories.
